As hit T.V. show “Last Man Standing” is being given “serious consideration” from Fox to reboot the show, WGN America announced on Thursday the network will be airing reruns of the show starting this spring.
“We’re very excited to welcome comedy mega-star Tim Allen and his hit sitcom ‘Last Man Standing’ to WGN America,” Gavin Harvey, President of WGN America, said, according to Deadline. “Our viewers love a good laugh and we are confident ‘Last Man Standing’ will contribute to the momentum that has made WGN America one of cable’s fastest growing networks.”
The show, starring Tim Allen as Mike Baxter, has characters who are more politically and socially conservative and many fans were upset when the show was canceled by ABC in 2017.
WGN’s decision shortly comes after the ratings bonanza from the relaunch of “Roseanne,” where characters are now President Donald Trump supporters.
The first two episodes of Roseanne averaged a 5.1 rating in the key demo, with an average of 18.1 million viewers, making it the “highest-rated regularly-scheduled scripted show of the last few seasons, as well as the highest-rated sitcom in recent memory,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
